November brings a different kind of beauty to Virginia Beach. The shore feels quieter, the air is cooler, and family visits give us a reason to pause and enjoy the people we love. If everyone is coming home for Thanksgiving, this may be the moment to make the family portrait you've been talking about.
A beach portrait can bring several generations together in a setting that feels like home. Parents, children, grandparents, and grown children returning for a visit all belong in the picture. The most meaningful part is having your family together as you are today.
November beach sittings take a little extra planning. Daylight is shorter, so an earlier afternoon or a weekend may work better than trying to squeeze a session in after work. We'll help you choose a time and location with the light, wind, and temperature in mind.
Beach weather can change. If conditions aren't comfortable, we'll discuss rescheduling or another suitable setting. The goal is a relaxed sitting, with everyone comfortable enough to enjoy being together.
Soft sweaters, long sleeves, and coordinated colors can look wonderful along the coast. Choose clothing that works together without requiring every person to wear exactly the same thing. Bring warm layers, especially for children and grandparents, and let us help with the details before your appointment.
You don't need to wait for a milestone birthday or anniversary. A November visit can be a wonderful reason to include grandparents, siblings, and the cousins who rarely get to spend time together. Tell us who's coming so we can plan a sitting that gives your family the attention it deserves.
The coastal portraits shown here offer different ways to gather a family, including an ocean-view deck setting. We'll discuss the setting that best suits your group.
Forrest Studio of Photography has welcomed Hampton Roads families since 1977. We create portraits for your walls and meaningful gifts for the people closest to you. We'll also discuss production timing if you're hoping to give portraits for the holidays.
